
Crossing Guard
Guidelines
- Guards are to wear school uniforms and safety vests.
- Guards are to stay at station unless excused by teacher
on duty.
- Guards are not to carry on conversation with friends
while on patrol.
- If two guards are stationed: one will be on the church
side of the street. Both guards will go out together when it is safe.
Guards are to look both ways before stepping out into crosswalk.
- Guards are to stand on the sidewalk near the curb.
They are NOT to sit on the curb. The are NOT to eat or drink while on
duty.
- Children will walk across the street.
- Waiting children are to stay on the sidewalk or
corridor area only. The side garden of the Parish Hall is off limits for playing.
The metal handrails by the stairs are not to be sat on or twirled on.
- Guards are to keep the stairway clear so people can
easily go up and down the stairs.
- All children still waiting for a pick-up when final
bell rings will be sent to extended care.
At the beginning of each school year a Crossing Guard Schedule is distributed.
