Welcome To Kindergarten
Dear Parents,
On behalf of St. Martin faculty ad staff, I wish to extend my warmest welcome to you and your child! We are pleased that you have chosen our school and thrilled to have you as part of the St. Martin Community.
As the Kindergarten teacher, I am especially looking forward to getting to know your child. Please know that I am truly committed to helping him or her to gain the confidence and skills needed to provide a foundation for years of educational success. I am looking forward to partnering with you in this very important endeavor!
Many relevant procedural details will be discussed during Back-to-School Night, which is scheduled for Thursday, September 9 in the main hall. In the meantime, I thought it would be helpful for you to have a bit of information about what to expect during those first few weeks of school.
School begins at 8:05 am and during the first week, I encourage you to park off-site and walk your child directly to class. I will be ready to greet your child at the outside door at 8:05am.
We are thrilled to have parents as classroom helpers! Part of what makes our children successful and happy at St. Martin is the involvement of our parent community. If you have an interest in volunteering (or visiting) the classroom, please note the following:
For Kindergarten, we ask that parents refrain from working in the classroom for the first few weeks of school. Parent helpers and visitors are welcome after that time.
I will have a volunteer sign-up sheet available i the classroom at Back-To-School Night. After I have collected information from parents regarding their interests and available times and days, I will contact individuals to arrange schedules. (Please note that we have many parents who are unable to volunteer in the classroom. That's ok, too! We'll be sure to keep you up-to-date on special events or activities that may be of particular interest to you, in the event that you may be able to join us for those!)
For the safety of our children, we require that all visitors (including parents) sign in at the front office before entering the campus during school hours. This includes lunchtime visits.
Again, thank you for your involvement in St. Martin School. I am looking forward to working with you this year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lesa Walters
