Music

My name is Donna Vehawn and I teach vocal music for grades Jr. Kindergarten to 6th Grade at St. Martin School.  I'm a firm believer that music is a wonderful way to channel energy, blow off steam and find emotional expression.  The students need music in their lives.  It also uses the whole brain and helps them in their other subjects at school.

I teach some music theory, some music history in the context of world and U.S. history, folk songs, some scientific facts through music, moral values, and some songs just for fun.  I also teach and prepare the students for the Christmas and Spring concerts.

My hope is that the students will learn to love music and find a lifelong joy through musical expression.
